Osun House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam on Monday confirmed 38 out of 39 nominees for the position of Commissioners and Special Advisers submitted by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

According to a statement by Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, the House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy in Osogbo, he said the nominees were confirmed by the lawmakers at the plenary with the exception of Mr Adeola Tejumola.

According to Oyintiloye, the motion for the confirmation of the nominees was moved by the majority leader, Hon. Timothy Owoeye and seconded by the minority leader, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole.

In his remarks, the speaker of the assembly, Salaam, said coast had been cleared for the governor to proceed with the swearing-in of the nominees, having found them worthy of confirmation.

Salaam, however, urged the nominees to operate open door policy and shun any form of corruption.

He said the nominees should bring in new ideas to governance that would rekindle the hope of the people in the state.

Salaam who noted that the monthly allocation from the Federal Government could no longer sustain the state, urged the nominees to assist government in improving its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)

It will be recalled that Gov. Aregbesola, in a letter dated April 11, forwarded 39 names of nominees for the position of Commissioner and Special Advisers to the State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
