The Oyo State chapter of Yoruba Youths Council (YYC) has lauded the federal government and security agencies over the release of 82 Chibok girls.

The council stated this in a communiqué issued at the end of its monthly meeting over the weekend.

The statement which was signed by its Chairman in the state, Otunba Kayode Adebayo and its Director of publicity and media, Lekan Shobo Shobowale joined other well meaning Nigerians and groups to salute those that ensured the release of the girls.

According to the statement, “we will like to felicitate with other Nigerians on this day for the successful return of our girls. The efforts were with the assistance of all security agencies, the government of Switzerland, Red cross international, local and international organizations.”

Yoruba Youths Council commended President Muhammadu Buhari, all stakeholders and the people of Nigeria for their steady prayer and support. The council then called on the Federal Government to ensure timely and safe return of the remaining Chibok girls and other captives with Book Haram.

Meanwhile, the YYC has warned some disgruntled youths to desist from using its name to perpetrate fraud. The statement said the council remains one and united under the leadership of Comrade Eric Oluwole who is currently the National President of YYC worldwide.

YYC assured that the council would not derail from its laudable aims and objectives towards adequate representation of Yoruba youths worldwide.
