Nigeria Women Football League has announced that it would postpone the resumption of the league to “ensure full compliance on contractual agreement between clubs and players.”

The second round of the current season was scheduled to kick off on June 7, but in a press release signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Ayo Abdulrahman, it was made known that a new date will be announced.

“The board is poised to ensuring full compliance on contractual agreement between clubs and players, hence postpone the resumption of 2nd round of 2016/17 Nigeria Women Pro league to accommodate compliance,” the statement read.

Seven round of matches were played in the first half of the season in Group A and B.

The second half of the season will also see another seven round of matches before the Super four to decide the winner this season.
