3SC Ibadan, ready to fight for survival...

The Head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Fatai Amoo has said that he is confident of a positive result against visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 22.

The Oluyole Warriors will clash with Southwest neighbours, Sunshine Stars in Sunday’s top-flight game at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Amoo, who is under tremendous pressure following the 3SC 3-0 home loss to Ifeanyi Ubah and 3-0 away bashing  in the hands of Lobi Stars, said any further poor result in the top-flight is simply a confirmation of relegation.

Speaking further, the former Sunshine Stars handler said intense tension is brewing in the Ibadan Landlords’ camp and only a good result against the Owena Waves will help greatly to douse the uncomfortable situation.

“The tension is high for obvious reason and we have been doing a lot of psychological work aimed primarily to psyche the players to believe in themselves.

“Of course, the point we are at the moment, anything short of an outright win against Sunshine Stars is simply a calamity and a confirmation of relegation,” Amoo said.

The U-23 national team coach said the technical crew and players are not enjoying themselves now because of the shame of the home loss and we have put that behind.

“Self-motivation is the main key that will help us come out of the wood to once again command respect among our peers.

“We have done corrections after the shocking home loss to FC IfeanyiUbah which was outright unexpected.

“We are yet to come out of the shock of the defeat or fathom an antidote but we know never again would such result happen.

“We are looking forward to a crunch clash against Sunshine Stars as the saying goes once beaten twice shy,” he added.

3Sc are 19th on the 20-team top-flight on 22 points, 17 behind league leaders Plateau United.
