Adebayo Waheed’s sublime finish ended FC Ifeanyi Ubah eight games unbeaten streak as Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC edged the visitors 1-0 in one of nine,  Matchday 22 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League  (NPFL) played at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium.

The Olukoya Boys bounced back to winning ways after an inspiring performance as they outclassed the Anambra Warriors to end their three games without a victory.

MFM FC began the encounter on a brighter note as Stephen Odey just back from ten days camping with the Super Eagles,  and Adebayo Waheed forced FCIU goalkeeper, Bamba Drissa, to early saves.

The hosts continued with their sleek display as Onuwa Chukwuka, Oshobe Oladele and Shola Brossa asserted their authority in the midfield. Captain, Opara Austine and his partners in defense; Okorom Stanley, Emiloju Julius and Monsuru Bashiru gave good account of themselves with some  smart defensive performances.

MFM took the lead through Adebayo Waheed in the 19th minute of the game when he connected a long pass from Monsuru to score his second goal of the season after his debut goal against Kano Pillars in match day 5 of the NPFL season. The first half ended with the Lagos-based team maintaining a one goal lead.

The visitors began the second stanza, more determined, posing great threats on the homers defense but MFM FC soaked the pressure with some brilliant defensive show.

Coach Ilechukwu’s  wards had a chance to double the lead 20 minutes into the second half but Odey’s audacious shot was deflected for a corner.

The 84th minute of the big game, again saw Odey turning his maker after a nice control of the ball before he let fly a screamer  but the effort went inches wide. The game ended and MFM FC claimed their first victory in the second stanza the Nigerian top league.

With the maximum points in their bag, MFM FC moved from fourth position on the 20-team NPFL table to second with 37 points from 22 league matches.
