Adegoke Adelabu Ramadan Lecture: Sheik Muhydeen Identifies Hatred For Truth As Base Of Societal Problems

Hatred for truth has been identified as a major factor responsible for the increase in the rate of societal problems bedeviling the country.

This was disclosed by a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheik Muhydeen Ajani Bello at the maiden edition of Ramadan Lecture organized by Adegoke Adelabu Foundation tagged “Living for the Truth” held at the ancestral compound of the late sage, Oke-Oluokun, Kudeti, in Ibadan.

Sheik Bello explained that benefits and fruits enjoyed by the politician’s children today were as a result of the greatness of Adegoke Adelabu on how he lived and died only staying by the truth. He argued that people do not have equal disposition about what truth stands for and when it should be exhibited.

He noted that truth is weightier than what philosophy alone could shoulder.

Sheik Bello commended the family for staying together to promote the good legacies left behind by the late sage, he, therefore, urged them to  move more closer to Allah and be God fearing in every of their dealing in order not to derail from the foundation of truth he had laid.

Earlier in his address, Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadan land, Chief Lekan Alabi praised Sheik Muhydeen Bello for honoring the invitation. He stated that the lecture was part of the activities lined up and approved by the Grand Patron of the foundation, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to honour Adegoke Adelabu for his contributions towards the development of Nigeria.

In attendance was the Mogaji of the Adelabu Dynasty, Chief Gbadamosi Adegoke Adelabu, only surviving wife, Alhaja Kosenat, Oyo State guber hopeful and Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadan land, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, former Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Bayo Ojo and Mr. Yinka Adelabu.

Others included family members, friends and well wishers.
