The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Taiwo Oluga stated this during her maiden visit to the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun (Larooye II) as part of her familiarisation tour of establishments under her purview.

Oluga stated that efforts are on-going at providing comfortable and convenient infrastructures leading to and within the groove to make this year’s annual Osun-Osogbo festival a rosy one.

The Special Adviser, however, called for the support of the citizens of the state by paying their taxes regularly in order to improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state which will assist the government in providing various social amenities.

In his remark, the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun (Larooye II) promised to enlighten the people of Osogbo and its environ on their civic duties to the government especially in the areas of prompt payment of taxes and other levies.

The traditional ruler then appealed to the state government to undertake a complete fencing of the Osun-Osogbo groove to prevent the activities of land speculators and poachers.

He also suggested the introduction of vending machines at the entrance of the groove for crowd control and income generation.
