Ogun’s Ongoing Road Projects: Legislators Commend Pace Of Work

The Ogun State House of Assembly has commended the fast pace at which the on-going road projects are moving at some of the construction sites in the Ogun Central Senatorial District of the State.

Members of the House Committee on Works and Infrastructure led by Hon. Olayiwola Ojodu, gave the commendation shortly after an on- the- spot- assessment visit to some of the project sites at the NNPC junction of the Abeokuta- Sagamu Express road, Lafenwa-Ayetoro road, Brewery junction of Lafenwa-Ita Oshin road, Ago-Ika-Enugada-Adatan and Itoko- Arinlese road.

Ojodu explained that the projects when completed would consolidate on the urban renewal programmes of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun- led administration, which he noted would attract more local and foreign investors to boost the socio-economic status of the State.

The Chairman in company of other members of the Committee including Honourables Julianah Akintayo, Victor Fasanya, and Olusola Bankole, expressed pleasure with the level of work done by the contractors handling the projects, just as they applauded the supports of the residents of the State whose structures were demolished to pave way for the ongoing construction.

According to him, the construction would go a long way to accommodate the influx of people and investors to the State, thereby boosting the economic status of the State.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Kayode Ademolake assured that the asphalting concrete surfacing of the flyover at the NNPC junction, Abeokuta would be completed in the next two months, adding that contractors worked day and night to ensure the timely completion of the roads.

Ademolake also promised that the Enugada – Ago Ika-Adatan would be completed in the next nine months with consideration for the rainy season, the speedy completion would be achieved  as contractors ensure 24 hours construction works.

He also stated that the present administration had always been engaging the service of local contractors and promised that more of the contractors would soon be engaged by the State government, especially in its planned 171 rural road construction and 25 semi urban road projects.
