Real reasons why Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State sacked his commissioners have started to emerge.

A source close to the Government House in Ado Ekiti informed PMParrot that the Fayose and the said commissioners have been relating together ‘diplomatically’ in the past four months.

The Commissioners are said to be unhappy that Fayose runs his government like a typical Emperor without much breathing space for the political office holders.

Fayose, on the other hand also read ‘hand-writings’ on the wall that most of the Commissioners are not going to support his attempt to remain in power after the expiration of this tenure.

Our source informed “Governor Fayose was told that most of the Commissioners who do not have governorship ambition next year are already fraternizing with guber-hopefuls of their choice. They have shown signs that they are not with Fayose in spirit. So, the governor had no choice but to let them go.

“In addition, the commissioners got disillusioned because they had high hopes when they were coming in as commissioners but have remained disappointed after over two years without nothing to show”.

Governor Fayose on Sunday sacked all his commissioners without any official explanation.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, Fayose ordered the sacked commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their ministries.

The governor thanked them for their service to the State and wished them well in their future endeavours. Fayose approved the appointment of the former commissioners on December 03, 2014 and sent their names to the House of Assembly for confirmation.

Majority of the commissioners were sworn in on July 2, 2015.

Affected by the sack are: Owoseni Ajayi (Justice), Toyin Ojo (Finance) and Mrs Oso (Works).

Others are: Bisi Kolawole (Environment), Lanre Ogunsuyi (Information), Kehinde Odebunmi (Agriculture), Kolapo Kolade (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters) and Olurotimi Ojo (Health).

Those sacked are: Deji Adesua (Public Utilities), Jide Egunjobi (Education), Mrs. Olayinka Ogundayomi (Women Affairs), Tayelolu Otitoju (Lands) and Gbenga Olajide (Budget and Planning).

Meanwhile, Ekiti’s ever optimistic politicians have been thronging Fayose’s home and office to lobby for slots in the new cabinet to be assembled by the enigmatic governor.
