Nigeria’s security chiefs again met with the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday night in continuation of government’s efforts aimed at rescuing all those abducted recently by the Boko Haram sect while carrying out oil exploration researches in the Lake Chad Basin Frontier Exploration.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a message he posted on his Twitter handle on Sunday.

Osinbajo had last Thursday met with the service chiefs on the same issue.

Akande listed those who attended the latest meeting with Osinbajo to include all the service chiefs; the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim; the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura; and the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.

He wrote, “In continuation of his close monitoring of Borno situation, Acting President Osinbajo met again last (Sunday) night with service chiefs, IGP, DG DSS, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources among others.

“The meeting reviewed progress on release rescue (efforts) of abducted officials of UNIMAID  and missing NNPC staff.

“Acting President Osinbajo had earlier met Defence Minister and military service chiefs couple days back in his office on Thursday on the situation.”
