Club Owners Blast Bosso Over Win At Home Syndrome Comment

Football Club Owners Association (Club Owners) have fired back at the President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association and head coach of Elkanemi warriors, Issah Ladan Bosso, to shut up over his recent comment on win at home syndrome in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Bosso, who had in a recent interview blamed the club owners of paying Referees and intimidating them, thus influencing the win at home syndrome, was asked to focus on technical matters as he had only demonstrated his low knowledge of the principles and protocols of Football management and administration.

The Club owners in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Isaac Danladi and the executive secretary, Alloy Chukwuemeka exonerated members of the Association from the unwarranted and false allegation, stressing that the blame should rather go to the entire football system and all the stakeholders.

The Association said none of its members had been arrested, prosecuted or even investigated for inducing matches officials to unduly influence match results, hence it wondered where coach Bosso relied on before making such baseless allegations.

The Association called on the NFF Integrity section and other relevant agencies to immediately invite coach Bosso to prove the allegations as it is capable of bringing the entire football to disrepute.

“We are pained and concerned that such weighty allegation came from coach Bosso considering his position as one of the top coaches in the league as well as President of the coaches Association. So we demand an apology or he should be invited to prove the allegations.

“Club owners comprised of respected members in their various callings who are appointed on their merits to administer their respective clubs, notably senior Lawyers, seasoned Journalists, former Law makers, ex commissioners and seasoned administrators.

“We strongly believe that whatever challenges being faced in the league should be blamed on the entire system which comprised of all the relevant stakeholders, and solutions to such problems should be a collective responsibility”.
