FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Move One Step Up

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed one place, and now occupy the 38th position, while they are sixth in the continental ranking in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings released on Thursday.

The latest rankings which were published on FIFA’s official website saw Egypt occupying the number one spot on the continent and Africa’s highest ranked team in 25th spot in the world.

The Super Eagles did not play any match last month and will tackle Cameroon in home and away fixtures of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.

In Africa, the Super Eagles now occupy the sixth position, while Egypt are No.1 on the continent  and Africa’s highest ranked team in 25th spot in the world.

African Champions Cameroon are placed fifth in Africa and three spots above Nigeria in the world ranking.

Egypt, DR Congo, Senegal and Tunisia make up the top four in Africa; Egypt still retains the highest African position in the World in 25th.

Brazil are ranked number one in the world, a spot above 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup winners, Germany.

The next release date for the ranking is due on 14 September 2017.
