Cameroon’s national team, the Indomitable Lions resumed camp ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Nigeria according to reports from the Central African country.

Indomitable Lions’ Head coach Hugo Broos welcomed 20 of the invited 23 players to the Stade Ahmadu Ahidjo,Yaounde camp.

Coach Broos excused three players from the qualifiers and in their places has invited replacements.

According to the reports, actual practice will commence on Tuesday and the team is scheduled to depart for Uyo on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, after the weekend’s league match against Jiangsu in the Chinese Super League, Lions forward Christian Bassogog said he’s now focused on the qualifiers.

In a chat with local journalists, William Tchango and Léger Tientcheu Bassogog insists the Lions have a reputation to protect against the Super Eagles.

“It is an important match and we have to approach it with positive mindset. We have to justify why we are African champions.

“We really want to ask the Cameroonians to be with their team to push it forward and show that we did not win the Africa Cup of Nations by chance,” Bassogog remarked.

The first leg of this encounter comes up on Friday 1st September in Uyo, and the return match will be on Monday 4th September in Yaounde.
