The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole has charged the people of the state to think about consolidating on the spate of development witnessed in the state under the Ayodele Fayose-led government, as they celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the state.

Oluwawole, in a congratulatory message signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, in Ado-Ekiti, on Sunday, noted that of the 21 years the state had witnessed those in which Fayose led it had been the most significant and development-oriented.

He also congratulated the entire nation for its attainment of 57th year of independence, noting that there was still more to be done to take the country to the Promised Land.

According to the statement; “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. But as we go on the journey, we must take cognizance of each mile stone. I stand to be corrected, of the 21 years we have attained the status of a state, those in which Chief Ayodele Fayose led this state are the ones in which we have witnessed development.

There is hardly any monument or remarkable road in the state that you would not ling to either first or second coming of the man.

“This is the reason we must key into the continuity agenda of Governor Fayose. This is our state; our pride. We must do all within our power to take it to its zenith. Let us not fall into the hands of deceitful politicians again. I congratulate us for coming this far. But we must not get carried away by complacency.

“Again, much as we are battling with one of the worst governance ever in the history of the nation, I charge us not to relent in efforts to have a nation of our dream. The power resides with us, the people, and we shall take it back at the appropriate time. I congratulate us on the attainment of 57 years of nationhood.

“Nigeria shall be great again, irrespective of the current circumstances. The Goliath that threatens the goodness of Nigeria shall fall before the feel of our David.”

The lawmaker charged the people of the state to support the candidacy of Professor Kolapo Olusola as the next governor of the state, declaring that it was the choice of God “to elongate the current development the state is witnessing.”
