Nworah Afam Oranye, an Onitsha based surveyor, and his company, Slack Water Ltd have been arraigned before Justice I.B Gafai of the Federal High Court, Awka Anambra State by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Â on a seventeen count charge of forgery, issuance of dud cheque and obtaining the sum of Sixty Million Naira under false pretences.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge which was read to him at the instance of Prosecution counsel, I.I Mbachie prompting his lawyer, Ernest Isiwu to move for a motion for bail which he had filed and served same day.
The Judge adjourned the case to October 17 for hearing of bail application and November 7th and 9th for trial while ordering the defendant to be remanded in EFCC custody.
