Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, who represents Ibadan South East / North East federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, has been commended by the Oyo State government for his contributions towards raising the standard of education in the state.

The commendation was made at the presentation of scholarship awards and distribution of writing materials to primary and secondary school students across his constituency, held at Adekile Goodwill Grammar School, Orita Aperin, Ibadan.

Speaking on behalf of the state government, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, stated that one of the cardinal projects of the state government is education, and Hon. Dapo Lam has contributed a lot towards its development. He added that the Honourable deserved to be commended.

Prof. Olowofela emphasized that the level of education system in the state has improved, saying that the last WAEC result was a great manifestation, where the state received the best result compared to the last 18 years.

He added that educational support scheme of Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina has keyed into that of the state government.

The Education commissioner therefore, advised the beneficiaries to make use of the materials in a way that will better their educational careers and also to focus more on their studies.

In his address, Hon Dapo Lam Adesina expressed that all he has been doing at Omo Oloore Educational Support Scheme, Omo Oloore Free Health Care, Omo Oloore Food Bank and many others are in line with his electioneering campaign promises, adding that he believes that all the promises have been kept.

Hon. Dapo Lam disclosed that he took so much interest in education because it is major cardinal point of campaign promises to the people of his constituency, and also to contribute his quota towards improving on the standard of education that is deteriorating in the country.

Hon.Dapo Lam therefore, promised the people of his constituency of many better days ahead, saying that the focus point of his agenda is to impact on the lives of the people through various developmental programmes that will  make their life better.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Ayo Eniade, in his goodwill message noted that Hon. Dapo Lam has demonstrated that he is capable of stepping into his late father’s shoes. He added that all the good work that he has been doing have shown that he is a good representative of APC in the state.

Parts of the highlight of the programme were the presentation of scholarship prizes award to outstanding students and distribution of writing materials to about 5,000 students across 100 schools within the constituency.

Oyebola Ayodeji, a student of Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu was awarded a scholarship scheme support of sum of N100,000 after emerging the best student in the 2016 edition of Omo Oloore quiz and debate competition, Adedayo Samuel, a Baptist High School student, Oke-Ado was also awarded with the sum of N50,000 for coming out as the best student in 2016 West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), while Adeagbo Quadri from Community Primary School, Oyapidan was awarded the sum of N50,000 after emerging as the best student in 2017 edition of Omo Oloore Quiz and Debate Competition.

Also, there was presentation of cheques of  N100,000 each to the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), South East and North East and ANCOPPS South East and North East.
