Community Development Associations (CDAs) have been described as partners in the implementation of government policies and programmes.

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, stated this during the closing ceremony of a four-day Basic citizenship and leadership Training Course for Community Leaders in the State put together by the State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, held at the Institute of Social Development, Shasha, Iperu Remo Area of the State.

Amosun, represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. According to the governor, peaceful co-existence which is the bedrock of development of any nation rests on the family unit, which formed the basis for a community, saying that community thus remained the platform through which societal development would be achieved.

Thanking the CDAs for their unflinching support to the current administration in the last six years, the governor assured that the request of the Associations for the full implementation of the Anti-Land Grabbing Law would be carried out to the letter.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Mr.  Gbenga Adenmosun implored the over 290 participants of the course to advantage of the training, as he stressed the need to encourage their wards to get involved in other government training programmes like Agriculture for self sufficiency.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the Community Development Council; Alhaji Abdul Rasaq Ikupoliyi lauded government for training the members of the CDAs, while requesting for more people     oriented policies and programmes across communities in the State.
