PDP Chair: Taoheed Adedoja’s Bid Receives Boost

The National Chairmanship bid of Professor Taoheed Adedoja has received a boost from groups of disabled persons under the umbrella of “Peoples Democratic Party Coalition Of Persons With Disability” Of Nigeria.

According to Yahaya Adetunji, Adedoja’s Media Assistant, this was indicated when Representatives of the Group Paid Solidarity visit to the former Minister of Sports at his Ikolaba residence recently.

The National Co-ordinator of the Group, Mr. Ezekiel Olatunde emphasized that Professor Taoheed Adedoja is the only PDP Chairmanship aspirant known to have passion for the welfare of disabled persons in Nigeria going by his antecedents and what he has done for the socio-economic and educational development of persons with  disability in Nigeria as the grand patron of the organization in the last 23 years.

The Group therefore, according to the co-ordinator has commenced nationwide mobilization of delegates across the country to vote for Professor Taoheed Adedoja at the National Convention of the Party.

The group described  Prof Adedoja as a man of integrity, with non-controversial personality in the affairs of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In his response, Professor Taoheed Adedoja gave commendation to the constitution committee of PDP for recognizing persons with disability (PWD) as a major Stakeholder in the affairs of the party in the proposed amended constitution of the Party. The proposed amendment according to Prof Adedoja “will provide the needed shade and umbrella for the needs and aspirations of persons with disability (PWD)” in Nigeria in line with their counterparts all over the world.

“The survival of Nigeria as a country can only be guaranteed with the provision of equal opportunities for all its citizens not only irrespective of Gender or Social Status but also irrespective of disability.
