Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Ighalo has confirmed that he has withdrawn from the Nigerian national team’s latest roster announced recently after picking up an injury.

The medical tests carried out on the former Watford star by club medics confirmed the worst fears of manager Gernot Rohr and the Super Eagles faithful, that the striker faces a spell on the sidelines.

”I suffered a knee sprain in our last game against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan F.C on Sunday, I was able to finish the game because I thought it wasn’t serious, then I started feeling pains after the game,” said Ighalo said.

”I will be out of action for 10-15 days; I won’t be able to play against Algeria and Argentina.”

Ighalo started the last three competitive matches played by the Super Eagles and was on target in the 4-0 hammering of Cameroon in September.
