PDP Chairmanship: Taoheed Adedoja Takes Campaign To Senate Caucus

Ahead of the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) slated for December 9-10, 2017, one of the National Chairmanship aspirants, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja has extended his lobbying and wide consultations to the PDP Senate Caucus, at the National Assembly in Abuja.

At the Caucus meeting, the former Minister of Sports and Special Duties presented his plans for the party in his bid for the national Chairmanship seat.

During the session Chaired by the Chairman of the Caucus, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Prof. Adedoja promised to utilize his nationwide contacts and experience in public administration to rejuvenate PDP.

He also outlined his plans for the welfare of members along with the required membership drive.

His words “My target for new membership of PDP in all wards in Nigeria will be creative, and I will lead the party by example, with team work, by tapping the potentials of all members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) and all organs of the party including members in diaspora”.

Prof. Adedoja requested the Senate caucus to consider him for the position of National Chairman of the Party as he promised to bring in fresh ideas and innovations in the management of the Party.

Marketing of PDP programmes, according to him, will include empowerment of members and providing comprehensive life insurance packages for them as one of his cardinal focus for the Party. The former Minister proposed to improve the funding profile of the Party, through viable business ventures and investments.

The former Pro-chancellor of the Federal University, Dutse in Jigawa State promised to use his experience in institutional management to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party Institute for maximum functionality as the party’s key intellectual policy think tank and resource base for the party and for the new PDP government that will be put in place in 2019.

At the National Assembly Complex where the interactive session took place, Prof. Adedoja also addressed a press conference where he reiterated his desire to lead the party come December 2017, banking on the goodwill of all stakeholders including PDP members of the National Assembly.

Prof. Adedoja had earlier visited the members of the PDP Caucus of the House of Representatives where he articulated his programme of action.
