Super Eagles Midfielder, John Ogu believes the team can improve after a 1-1 draw against Algeria in the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Friday.

Although he scored Nigeria’s goal but, overall the make shift team can impress against Argentina when the sides clash in an international friendly, Ogu has expressed.

Rohr ringed six changes in the starting XI handing a full debut to Ola Aina and a first international cap to forward Anthony Nwakaeme.

The changes were necessitated by injury to several first team players including Victor Moses, Onazi Ogenyi, Elderson Echiejile and Odion Ighalo.

Meanwhile, captain Mikel Obi was rested while Ahmed Musa came off the bench action for another cameo. Henry Onyekuru also saw some action as a substitute.

In an interview on the Super Eagles twitter handle, Ogu remarked, ” Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to God for the goal but, I think credit goes to the team because we played against a good side and coming out with this result is something to be proud of.

“I feel like we fought and worked hard for each other; scoring them first in their home is big but we just want to continue from where we stopped against Argentina in the upcoming friendly.

“I think this shows that every one in the team is willing to fight to make the country proud, so I just want the fans to expect more and a better performance from us.”
