One of the frontline governorship aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Adeolu Akande has sent a congratulatory note to the proprietor of SAF Polytechnic, Iseyin, Alhaji Ismail Bayo Folorunso for the prospective approval of the institution by the accreditation team of the National Board of Technical Education, NBTE.

Akande, in the message personally signed by him, said he was elated when he received the news of the commendation of the NBTE team during the visit to the site of the polytechnic.

He said the acknowledgement of the NBTE team that SAF Polythectic was the first nationwide that was fully equipped to take off from its permanent site is a testimony to the vision and doggedness of the proprietor of the institution.

“All accounts of the accreditation team’s visit to SAF Polythecnic have been very positive. It is definitely not too early to commend the vision and doggedness of the proprietor of the institution, Alhaji Folorunso Ismail.

“He has dared to tread where the angels fear to step. His determination which looked like a fairy tale has become a reality. The dream of Oke Ogun people for higher institutions are being realised before our very eyes.

“We commend the pioneering effort of Alhaji Ismail. The birth of the private polytechnic in Iseyin will no doubt open a new chapter in the socio-economic development of Oke Ogun and usher in a new phase in the development of the zone.

“It will spur more indigenes and investors from within and outside Nigeria to look into the Oke Ogun corridor for development, not only in the area of education but in all spheres of human endeavour”.

Akande also congratulated the Aseyin of Iseyin and other Obas in Oke Ogun as well as the people of Iseyin and Oke Ogun for the laudable feat, commending the Aseyin for providing a leadership that encourages young men like Alhaji Ismail to return home with confidence to develop their motherland.

“Gone are those years that successful indigenes were afraid to return home to develop their areas. Kabiyesi has demonstrated that with the right leadership, successful indigenes of Oke Ogun can be encouraged to return home and contribute to the development of the area.”

Akande also used the oppurtunity to implore the people of Oke Igun not to lose sight of the dream of an Oke Ogun University, saying Folorunso Ismail has demonstrated that with determination, the dream is only a step away from realisation.

“Folorunso has challenged us all that no height is too high for us to climb. If he could single-handedly establish a polytechnic, then we can collectively establish the university. The beauty of it all is that all the institutions will cater for all of humanity and not the people of Oke Ogun alone in their multiplier effects”, he said.
