NULGE Honours LG Staff Members, Politicians

The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, Ibadan South East branch has honoured some eminent people in the state for their contributions towards the progress of the union.

The award ceremony was held at the Mapo Town Hall, Ibadan recently.

According to the press statement jointly signed by the union’s chairman and secretary, Comrade Taiwo Olateju and Comrade Akin Adedoja, they expressed their gratitude to the Almighty God and the awardees for their support before, during and after the programme.

They disclosed that the award ceremony was to show appreciation for the role and contributions the awardees played towards the development of the union and the entire local government areas in the state.

They further stated that the event was an avenue to motivate members of staff working with the local government by honoring some of them considered to be hard working, and particularly to celebrate the former Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Victoria Olufunmilayo Akinpelu, who recently retired for the motherly role she played while in active service.

Some of the awardees were Oyo State President of NULGE, Comrade Titilola Sodo, his Deputy, Comrade Moshood Adedokun (Galaxy), Caretaker Chairmen, Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Teslim Ajimobi and Ibadan South LCDA, Hon. Sakiru Fagunwa.

Others included Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, who represents Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja and members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Ige and Hon. Fatai Adesina.
