As the race for the 2019 general election gathers momentum, a group, Forum 36 States’ Zonal Coordinators have unanimously endorsed the Zamfara State Governor, Abdul Azeez Yari for the 2019 Presidential election.
The group made their intention known during their emergency meeting held somewhere at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State where over 1000 members across the six geo political zones in Nigeria gathered.
During the meeting, about eight aspirants believed to be jostling for the number one position in Nigeria were shortlisted and carefully scrutinized before the group concluded to support the Zamfara State Governor, Abdul Azeez Yari.
Among them were the former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, former Governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ekiti state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau, Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai former Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido and Governor Abdul Azeez Yari.
Speaking with journalists shortly after their meeting, the National President of the Forum, Comrade Oluyemi Ololade said the Forum which cuts across all the six geo political zones in Nigeria unanimously endorsed Governor Yari who doubles as the Chairman of Governors forum in Nigeria because of his laudable achievements in all sectors and leadership style.
According to him, “we as youths are ready to work assiduously to ensure his emergence in 2019 for the exalted position and we are imploring other Nigerians to support this course for a youth, one of us, to emerge as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is the only one that has the capacity and energy to continue the good work that President Muhammadu Buhari is doing towards repositioning the country.”
“We will now pay a congratulatory visit to him to intimate him of our position and endorsement and implore him to accept our request for his Presidency come 2019.”
