Ogun Assembly Seeks Renovation Of Stadia

Ogun State House of Assembly has sought for the renovation of all the stadia in the State in next year’s budget for the advancement of sporting and recreational activities.

Members of the State Assembly including Honourables Adebowale Ojuri, Olawale Alausa and Rasaq Oduntan, said this while the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Afolabi Afuape took his turn to defend his ministry’s budget at the on-going 2018 budget defence before the members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

Alausa tasked the ministry to devise more sport-oriented programmes geared towards engaging more youths across the State with a view to developing youth through capacity building, while Hon. Ganiyu Oyedeji commended the ministry for its revenue generating initiative.

Responding,  Afuwape promised that more even development would come up in the next fiscal year, adding that the Ministry proposed a total budget estimate of N2.740B, out of which capital projects would gulp N2.575B, while the remaining N165m would cater for recurrent expenditure, with revenue target put at N2m.

The Commissioner who also explained that a total of N9.73m was proposed for the purchase of sporting and gaming equipment.
