All is not well with women football in Nigeria as Randy Waldrum has rejected Super Falcons job.

The 61-year-old American coach has been named head coach of the University of Pittsburgh women’s team following weeks of delayed formal agreement with the NFF as appointed in October.

Waldrum, who was expected in Nigeria on Wednesday to put pen to paper, had eventually turned down the offer.

Waldrum, who was tipped for the Falcons job, was unveiled by the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Director, Heather Luke on Tuesday as the new women’s soccer coach for the Panthers.

“I would like to thank Heather Lyke for giving me this wonderful opportunity to lead the women’s soccer program at the University of Pittsburgh,” Waldrum said in the release.

“I believe in the vision and excitement that she has brought to the Pitt athletic department and I look forward to being a part of that vision. I would also like to thank Chris Hoppe, who led this search, as it was truly professional in every way.”
