Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ibadan North East and South East Local Government areas of Oyo State will forever remember Honourable Adedapo Lam-Adesina who represents them at the House of Representatives in Abuja.
This is because the young lawmaker was one of those who put smiles on their faces as he showered over six million naira on them for this year’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The gift of money, as it has been the custom of Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, is to alleviate the level of suffering and contributing to the welfare development of the people of his constituency, particularly during the festive periods.
While speaking to the teeming members of the APC at Oluyoro Girl Grammar School, Padre, Oluyoro in Ibadan North East Local Government and IMG Primary School, Ori-Aje in Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Dapo Lam stated that one of his primary aims is to ensure that people of his constituency are living a better life.
He noted that the money initially was N2.5 million before it was increased to N3 million since 2016 at every festival period, “it was to appreciate the support they have been giving to us in the past, and also to try to encourage them to do more, and particularly to say that not all political office holders that when they get to positions forget the people who elected them”.
He gave the sum of N3 million to each local government council excluding the ward and local government executives of the two council areas, who were taken care of with undisclosed amount.
Hon. DPO Lam, while reacting to recent decampment of prominent politicians into the fold of All Progressives Congress, he described the step as a welcome development, aiming towards expanding the political space in the state, which is good a good development for democracy.
He opined that the development has sent a strong signal to the opposition parties in the state that APC in Oyo State is ready to retain all elective seats and winning more seat come 2019 general elections.
He used the opportunity to urge all members of the party to eschew rancor that might be existing within them and make themselves a one strong family in order to keep the party stronger.
In his remarks, an All Progressives Congress Chieftain in Ibadan North East Local Government, Chief Ayo Eniade, commended efforts of Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina for his kind gesture towards ensuring that lives of members in the party are better.
He appealed to all members of the party to stay together and work in peace and harmony in order to usher the party to victory, particularly in the forthcoming local government election in the state.
