Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi who represents Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly Abuja has been harvesting awards as ‘best Senator’.
He has also felicitated with the entire good people of Oyo State for the New Year 2018 that has just begun, thanking Almighty God for preserving our lives to usher in the new calendar year.
Senator Adesoji Akanbi in a goodwill message made available to newsmen urged the people in the nine Local Government Areas of Oyo State that constitute his Senatorial district as well as the entire people of Oyo State at large to be thankful to God for all the good things the Almighty creator did for them in the past year, especially the grace they enjoyed to be alive to see the end of 2017 despite the ups and down, difficulties and challenges that confronted many people in the past year.
The lawmaker, however, encouraged the people of Oyo state to be hopeful and believe that the year 2018 will be far better with greater opportunities for individuals adding that the Mohammadu Buhari-led administration in the country will not relent in its determined efforts to improve the standard of living of Nigerians, just as he emphasised that the All Progressives Congress (APC)led government in the country will further work assiduously to improve the nation’s economy in order to bring further positive development to many parts of the country.
Senator Adesoji Akanbi also urged the people to continue praying for the rapid development of Oyo state and prayed to God for continue to bless those at the helms of affair of the State with needed wisdom to direct the affair of the state in a right and positive direction.
To further show his appreciation to the people of Oyo State for supporting him with prayer in his legislative duty in the National Assembly, Abuja, which has reflected and manifested in his significant performance and noticeable achievement as a true representative of the people, Senator Adesoji Akanbi has therefore empowered one hundred (100) market men and women doing their business in and around Inalende area of Ibadan.
He gave the Cash support scheme to the traders at Inalende area of Ibadan as part of the activities to mark the celebration of the New Year 2018. Senator Adesoji Akanbi who was visibly happy in the midst of the traders said no amount of cash given will be considered too much or too small considering their unflinching support for him during the 2015 general elections and afterwards.
Senator Akanbi described the traders as a reliable and dependable constituent who deserved to be supported and assisted for the advancement of their trading business. The occasion of the Cash Support scheme for the Inalende traders was witnessed by hundreds of people who showed enthusiasm at the gesture and also thanked and prayed for senator Adesoji Akanbi describing the lawmaker as a true friend of the masses, a reliable progressive and one unique politician who is following the political ideology of Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Oyo state.
In addition, many of the traders who were recipient of the cash support scheme also lauded Senator Adesoji Akanbi for embarking on many infrastructural development projects in different parts of Oyo state, saying his achievements and performance so far is unprecedented.
Meanwhile, some other associations, organisations, especially those that have no affiliation with the government have also recognized the brilliant performance of Senator Adesoji Akanbi in the last two years, describing the lawmaker as a politician whose achievements in the area of infrastructural development and human capacity development in the area of various empowerment for the people of Oyo South Senatorial District and Oyo State in general, has been attracting attention.
To appreciate his brilliant performance as an astute lawmaker who has distinguished himself from other politicians in the state, a Non-Governmental Organisation, Cornerstone Media (The Organizer of Prominent Oyo Peoples Award) came to the venue of the Cash support scheme for Inalende market men and women on New Year Day to present the special award of “POPA 2017 Senator of the year” to Senator Adesoji Akanbi. The Organizer of the POPA 2017 Senator of the year Award, Cornerstone Media said several variables were put into consideration before coming to the conclusion that Senator Akanbi deserved the award.
Similarly, another prestigious award has also been given to Senator Adesoji Akanbi by the organiser of 2017 Miss Oyo and Oyo Merit/Good Governance Award, Mayor Isaac Brown said many citizens of Oyo State voted en-mass for Senator Adesoji Akanbi when their opinion were sought to select the best Senator for the year 2017in Oyo State. Mayor Isaac Brown also told newsmen and other guests at the award giving occasion that the performance and achievements of Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi both in his legislative duties as well as his contribution to the development of the society, especially in the way he is improving the standard of living of many people of Oyo state earned him the “Best Senator of the year 2017’’, in Oyo state. In addition, another Non-Governmental organisation, the South-West First Alert Magazine, a media organization has also given an award of “The Best performing Senator of the year 2017” in the South-West Nigeria to Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi.
South-West First Alert Magazine said Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi was rated and adjudged as the best performing Senator by different independent panel of judges who scrutinized all the Senators in the South-West for their performances so far.
All the panel of judges selected Senator Adesoji Akanbi and described him as a worthy recipient of the “2017 Best performing Senator in the South-West Nigeria. They also described him as a man of integrity, a reliable dependable and consistent lawmaker in the South-West Nigeria.
