Rt. Hon (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, has charged lawmaker and staff of the Assembly to always seek God presence in their ways in the New Year, 2018.

Speaking to journalists after the New Year prayer and thanksgiving service held at the Assembly Chambers in Ado-Ekiti, on Monday, Pastor Oluwawole appreciated his colleagues and the entire staff of the Assembly “for your steadfastness, support and cooperation in the out gone year.”

According to a statement by Oluwawole’s Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, the Speaker gave the assurance that 2018 would be a better year for all and predicted that “the earth would yield her increase with abundant blessing on God’s people.”

The Assembly Speaker enjoined the lawmakers and the staff to maintain their good relationship with the executive arm of government headed by Chief Ayodele Fayose, adding that “the continuity agenda of this administration should be supported by all in this year’s coming governorship election.”

Pastor Oluwawole pledged the commitment of the Assembly management to further improve the welfare of staff in the New Year.

In his massage at the occasion, the Government House Chaplain and Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Pastor Seyi Olusola, charged the lawmakers, staff and the entire Ekiti people to live a new life in the New Year.

Pastor Olusola described the earth as a stage where everybody played their parts and left, stressing that a grateful heart should receive more from God this year.

The Lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency 11, Hon Titilayo Owolabi-Akerele, read the Bible passage at the session with the Clerk of the House, Mr Tola Esan, charging the staff to maintain discipline, decorum and shun truancy this year.
