A former Secretary to the Oyo State Government and pointsman for ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Coalition for Nigeria Movement in the state, Chief Olayiwola Olakojo has boasted that nobody could have stopped former President if he had really wanted a third term in office as president of Nigeria.
Chief Olayiwola Olakojo disclosed this on a Fresh FM radio current affairs programme, Political Circuit aired in Ibadan and monitored by PMParrot over the weekend.
He pointed out the former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili as the brain behind the third term agenda while submitting that Obasanjo’s book is there to serve as point of reference and to clarify the issue.
The former Oyo State scribe therefore noted that the formation of Coalition for Nigeria Movement was not as a result of Olusegun Obasanjo’s grouse against President Muhammadu Buhari or to serve as third force, Chief Olakojo emphasized that it was rather an attempt to make the country great again.
The Oyo town born politician reiterated that former President Obasanjo is no longer involved in partisan politics, stating that Obasanjo has promised to move away from the group if it decides to transform into a political party.
Chief Olakojo opined that all various national intervention movements and other groups are entitled to join the Coalition for Nigeria Movement. He added that they will not allow money bags politicians to hijack the movement as they are all ready to contribute money to run it.
While reacting to why former President Sheu Musa Yar’dua was picked by Chief Obasanjo, Chief Olakojo revealed that contrary to many peoples’ submission that Yar’dua was intentional picked because of his medical condition, he stated that Obasanjo was not informed about the late Katsina-born politician’s medical challenges.
Chief Olakojo, however, disclosed that it was God that gave former President Olusegun Obasanjo the second term ticket, because his Vice President, Atiku Abubakar did not want him to succeed in his bid to become a second-term president of Nigeria.
