Nigeria dropped a point in football governing body, FIFA latest ranking of National Teams published on Thursday morning.

Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one place, and now occupy the 52nd position, while they are seventh in the continental ranking.

The Rankings reflect the performance of national teams between January and early February and Nigeria shed a point and stepped down from 51st to 52nd in the world.

During the month under review, the Eagles lost a game but also won four and the accumulation of points from a specific period was considered.

Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco and Egypt are the top ranked African teams in that order.

The Super Eagles World Cup foes Argentina, Croatia and Iceland are in the top 20; the South Americans are fourth in the global ranking, the Eastern Europeans 15th and the Nordic country 18th.

Tunisia are now Africa’s highest ranked team with Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco, Egypt and Cameroon lining up behind the Carthage Eagles.Our rivals to book a ticket to the 2019 African Nations Cup South Africa, Libya and Seychelles occupy the 77th, 99th and 192nd positions respectively.

Germany, Brazil and Portugal are the top three teams in the world, while Belgium complete the top five countries.

The next ranking will be published by the official website of FIFA, fifa.com, on 15 March, 2018.
