Ecological Projects: Ogun Lawmaker Debunks Kickback Rumour

Hon Oludare Kadiri, the lawmaker representing Ijebu North II State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly has debunked the rumour making the rounds that he collected kickbacks from contractors handling the construction of ecological projects in Ago-Iwoye and Oru towns in his constituency.

Kadiri, who described the rumour as unfounded and baseless while speaking under Personal Explanation at the plenary presided over by Speaker Suraju Ishola Adekunbi clarified that as a true representative of his people he only raised the need for the ecological intervention projects at the plenary last year and was happy that the Federal Government had responded swiftly in embarking on the projects.

The lawmaker, who commended the immediate intervention of government in the affected communities, expressed the need for the contractors handling the projects Kinetic Integrated Project and Haleems Integrated Services limited accord priority to quality project implementation.

Responding, the Speaker sought the need for the House of Assembly to interface with the contractors so as to ensure that the projects conform with Ogun standard, while commending government for being responsive and responsible to the yearnings of the people.

He equally commended Hon. Kadiri for rendering prompt reports of government development initiatives in his constituency, saying that all complaints received by the lawmakers would be addressed in the course of the Assembly interface with the contractors.
