Super Falcons’ defender, Onome Ebi has ended speculation about her future after signing a contract with Chinese club Henan Huishang FC.

The Nigeria international has been inactive since she picked up an injury while defending the colors of the country against Cameroon in the final of the African Women Cup of Nations in December 2016.

A product of Bayelsa Queens, the 34-year-old previously turned out for Swedish Damallsvenskan clubs Piteå IF and Djurgårdens IF, and Turkish teams Düvenciler Lisesispor and Ataşehir Belediyespor.

She returned to Sweden in 2013 to join Sunnanå SK before transferring to Minsk in Belarus the following year.

The versatile and experienced central defender has experience in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Minsk, and featured against Barcelona, Standard Liege and Fortuna Hjørring among others in the competition.

“Thank to God almighty for making this possible. I’m back in football again and to say I am super excited is to put what I am feeling mildly. I want to thank everyone who has been with me on my journey to recovery and has helped to make this possible.

“I want to single out my management team for being a strong support system and making sure this transition was very smooth,” Onome was quoted in the media statement by her Management, Temple Management Company.

Ebi has represented Nigeria at four Women’s World Cups, making ten appearances, and featured at the Olympic Games in Beijing a decade ago.
