Samson Siasia...

Samson Siasia, ex-Coach of the Super Eagles has been speaking about how the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been killing the careers of Nigerian Coaches.

He also predicted that the Amaju Pinnick-led body will run back to him to rescue the country after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The USA 1994 World Cup star humorously accused the NFF of killing their best coaches (in apparent reference to late Amodu Shuaibu and Stephen Keshi), and insists that after the World Cup they will have nowhere to run to but him, reports allnigeriasoccer.com.

He also advised the NFF to avoid a fire brigade approach while preparing towards major competition.

When asked by reporters if he is still interested in coaching the Super Eagles, Siasia’s responded thus: ‘’Most likely they will run back to me after the World Cup, because they have killed their best coaches. I won’t say no to my country.’’

Speaking further, Siasia said: “We need to change our ways. We should have a plan ahead of major competitions, fire brigade approach will not help us.’’

The Super Eagles will play Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Siasia has led Nigeria to two silver medals in FIFA competitions, including the U-20 World Cup in 2005 and Beijing 2008 Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after winning the maiden African U-23 Championship in Senegal the same year.

However, he has also had his bad times with the national teams, including failing to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2012 Nations Cup hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, as well as the 2017 edition of the competition hosted by Cameroun.
