Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has been hailed by the state’s House of Assembly for living up to expectation as a masses-loving governor.

The House said his decision to listen to the voice of the people by reviewing downward the controversial Land Use Charge showed that he is truly a democrat.

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday described Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode as a populist and welfarist governor, following his administration’s downward review of the controversial Land Use Charge.

In a chat with PMParrot, Barrister Tunde Braimoh, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Publicity, Strategy and Security said the house is very much satisfied with Governor Ambode’s latest move.

“Governor Ambode merely demonstrated that he is knows his onions and is aware of the fact that the people are sovereign and their will is supreme at all times.”

The lawmaker, representing Kosofe Constituency II in the Assembly, however, expressed the hope that the governor’s gesture will be reciprocated by Lagosians.
