The CEO of Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Center and one of the consistent sponsors of the Splash FM Ibadan City Marathon, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde has said the ideology behind the annual long distance race is perfectly in line with the principles of her wellness outfit, and therefore would continue to identify with the 42 kilometer-marathon.

Ambassador Ayinde disclosed this while speaking with journalists at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan where she expressed happiness and joy for being one of the supporters of the marathon race that has entered its tenth edition this year. She opined that such consistent events need government’s support in order to fast track its main focus of promoting integrity, governance and accountability.

“The ideology of the founder of Splash FM, High Chief Adebayo Akande is to use this long distance race, which is not for lily-livered persons to promote integrity, good governance, transparency, accountability and graft-free society, which are all in tandem with the principles of Kayrom Lee. Marathon is also a way of keeping fit and maintainsing good health, which is part of what we often preach to the general public”

She, however, charged all and sundry especially governments at all levels to support the efforts of the organizers of Ibadan City Marathon Race to hasten the promotion of core value of integrity and accountability which are the main focus of the event.

Meanwhile this year’s edition has taken a new dimension as the organizing committee in charge of the race has introduced wheel chair race, artisan race and corporate race to add colour to the competition and make it an all-inclusive one.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Main Organizing Committee, Mrs. Oyebisi Asimolowo at a press conference organized at the indoor sports hall of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, where she declared the tag of this year’s as “Keep It Fit.”

Mrs. Asimolowo added that no fewer than 750 athletes have registered for the 10th Power Oil/Splash FM Ibadan City Marathon race slated for April 8, 2018.

She noted further that the competition has reached new heights with more sponsors coming in to associate with the competition.

Her words, “This year’s edition of the marathon race is taking new dimension and is getting stronger with more companies showing interest in the competition. With the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports being our usual technical partner, we are glad to introduce more prizes and new additions to the marathon.
