The Osun State’s branch of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security stakeholders in the state have been admonished by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) to be neutral in the conduct of the forthcoming governorship election scheduled to hold on September.
HDP in a statement issued by the party’s state Chairman, Mr. Wole Adedoyin said his party will be participating in the forthcoming election.
The party said the forthcoming Ekiti and Osun governorship elections will be a litmus test for INEC and the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the 2019 general elections.
HDP further called on the people of the state of Osun to get and protect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and come out enmasse to vote for whoever HDP presents as its governorship candidate comes September.
HDP insists that the September election in the state of Osun must be free, fair, credible and transparent. “INEC and all security agencies deployed for the election must remain neutral and unbiased during and after the election.”
