Former Super Eagles number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama kept a clean sheet on his return to competitive football this season helping Lille II to a 3-0 win against Viry Châtillon in a Championnat National 2 match.

Enyeama, who has been sidelined with injury for the most part of the season, returned to the reserve side of OSC Lille in the fourth division of French football.

It was his first appearance for the club and the 35-year-old expressed delight at the comeback.

The Former Nigeria international tweeted: Another one…this is the day that God has made, we rejoice and we are glad in it. Thanks to everyone that made it possible. I appreciate.

On Saturday, Lille II defeated bottom side Viry Châtillon to boost their chances of survival in the division.

There are still 11 matches before the end of the season and Enyeama will fancy getting more action as the team’s most experienced hand – though he is not the first choice.

More game time could help improve his chances of a return to top flight football or even the Super Eagles should the player and the Eagles’s Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, find a common ground on the issue.
