Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has noted that the socio-economic success of any nation which is hinged on developing and exploring the untapped potentials of its youths depends on its investment in them.

Adekunbi dropped the hint in an interview shortly after the March edition of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta Children Zodiac party, with a charge on parents to lay a good foundation for their wards with good moral, parental care and investment on their children.

According to him, there was need for parents and guardians to partner with government in givng quality education to their wards so as to prepare them for sound socio-political cum economic attainment in future with ability to compete favourably with their peers across the globe.

The Speaker said the monthly celebration was an avenue for kids to socialise, adding that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s administration remained committed to ensuring the success of its free but qualitative education programme to enhance the future prospects of children and their ability to cope with the challenges of higher levels of education any where in the world.

In their separate remarks, the General Manager, NTA Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama and the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) , Mr. Philips Ayodele advised the children to be studious, while making hardwork, dedication and commitment their watchwords with a view to achieving excellence in their chosen careers, pointing out that parental care plays a pivotal role in the upbringing of any child.
