Power Oil, the Nigerian number one healthy cooking oil and the title sponsor of Ibadan Marathon held over the weekend, has wished the Super Eagles a nice outing and a good fitness level while competing along Argentina, Croatia in the Russia 2018 World Cup.

This was disclosed by Kenneth Iruonagbe, the social media/brand Communication manager for Power Oil while addressing newsmen at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan over the weekend during the 10th edition of Ibadan City Marathon organised by the Ministry of Youths and Sport South/West Zone.

The brand which expressed keen interest in the health and fitness status of Nigeria’s national team said “as much as we appreciate the effort of the technical crew in ensuring a sound fitness level for the Eagles, the company is, however, using this medium to further encourage them to stay active and ultimately opt for healthy choice of meals at all times which coincidentally is what the Power Oil brand stands for –fitness and healthy family.

“This marathon is not for the lily-livered, just like the FIFA World Cup, so we wish the Super Eagles full fitness level in Russia and even after the tournament, we also call on Nigerians all around the world to give the Super Eagles overwhelming support and gear them up to achieve greatness during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“Also as a brand we will continue to educate Nigerians about healthy lifestyle habits such as regular exercise and healthy eating”, Iruonagbe noted.

“Seeing that recent statistics shows that 150,000 Nigerians die annually as a result of heart-related diseases and alarmingly, the number is expected to increase to 23 million by the year 2030 if adequate measures are not taken. The statistics cut a sorry figure when it comes to health status across the nation. Our very existence is to provide Nigerians with a healthy, hygienic money-for-value product and help lowering this statistics”, he added.

He, however, expressed his satisfaction over the large turnout during the marathon, in terms of participation and love shown to the brand by Nigerians.
