A former Deputy governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarumi has put his weight behind the reported move by members of the National Assembly to impeach, President Muhammadu Buhari, over the said four Hundred and Ninety six million dollars spent on purchasing fighter jets for the military, without the approval of the law makers.

Speaking during a programme on a private radio station Ibadan, ‘Gbangba Lasanta’, he said, president Buhari has committed an impeachable offence because it is illegal for the president to dip his hands into the nation’s treasury without approval of the National Assembly.

He, said, one of those things that distinguished civilian government from a military government is that the president of the nation cannot make or take irrational decision over the people of the state, he said by taking such a huge amount of money from the nation’s treasury, the president has got it wrong and must be made to face the music.

He, said, if, (He) Gbolarumi happened to be a member of the National Assembly, he will support moves by the legislators to impeach Buhari.

Speaking on why he parted with his former boss, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, he, said, he was loyal to him when he was the governor of the state, but parted ways with him, when he (Akala) dumped the party, (Peoples Democratic Party) that joined them together, due to differences in their political ideology.

He, stressed that he will never dump (PDP) for any other political party, because, those who dumped (PDP) including, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala are ingrates, because it was the (PDP) that made them.

He, said, Akala was selfish to drop the party (PDP) that made him and he did not give consideration to his followers.

He, said, he has no political ambition as God will direct him, when it is time for him to seek such, as it is He (God) that makes man

Assessing Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s seven years’ administration in the state, he said, the government has performed woefully, and there is nothing good he has done. “Posterity will judge him”, said Gbolarumi.
