Egbeda LG Boss In Oyo State Swears In Councillors

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government area of Oyo State, Hon. Sadiq Akeem Akintunde has charged the newly elected Councilors in his council to bring their wealth of experience to upgrade the quality, potential ad economic well being of the people.

He gave the charge during the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Councilors held recently at the council’s secretariat.

Hon. Sadiq, who gave the glory to God for giving him the opportunity to stand as an elected chairman, added that this was made possible by the confidence reposed in him by Governor Abiola Ajimobi, the All Progressives Congress party leaders and the electorates who cast their votes for him at the recently held local government elections, which was adjudged to be free, fair and peaceful.

While congratulating all the newly elected Councilors, he appealed to them to cooperate with the executive arm of government in order to bring more dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people at the grassroots.

Earlier, Mrs. Olufemi Adesina had been sworn in as the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Goverment.

The Chairman said he appreciated the entire work force of the council and called for their unflinching support and cooperation during his tenure.

The newly elected Councilors are Hon. Morufu Ogunleye, Hon.  Adeoba Adedeji, Hon. Azeez Bolupe, Hon. Wale Adegbuyi, Hon. Nureni Togunde, Hon. Awa Akinseye, Hon. Raheem Abiola and Hon. Rev. Lydia Onawumi.

In their separate remarks, the Council’s Vice Chairman and Councilors pledged that communal understanding would exist with all, especially the workers.
