Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has called on Muslims all over the world to be tolerant and show love to fellow humans and all God’s creation for the world to be a better place for all.

Aregbesola urged any Muslim that harbours hatred or causing discomfort to anything created by God to use the period of Ramadan to have a change of heart.

The governor stated this in Iwo on Monday while delivering a keynote address at the 25 years anniversary of Jama’atu Ta’wunil Muslimeen Association with the topic: “Towards 2019 General Elections: Muslims Involvements”.

According to Aregbesola, Nigerians needs to know and accept on the 2019 elections is the belief that it is God that appoints leaders for the people, calling on Nigerians to show good deeds and be accommodating towards fellow human beings.

The governor who read from the Holy Quran chapter 23 verses 1 charges Nigerians to have faith and belief in God, saying this is the only way for the nation to benefit from God.

Calling on the people to be obedient and steadfast in their faith towards God, the governor said through this man will completely benefit from the goodness of God.

He said: “We need to be tolerant and show love and affection towards our fellow humans and everything created by God. Any Muslim that is found showing hatred and causing discomfort or pain to a fellow human or anything created by God needs to seize this period of Ramadan to change ways.

“We all need to have good deeds and be accommodating to our neighbors anywhere we find ourselves as Muslims, you need to be the light of the world for others to follow as good examples.

“Towards the coming elections both at the state and federal levels, I want everyone of us to have in mind that it is God that chooses a leader for His people, let’s have the belief that the best will be given to us.”

The governor then commended the Jama’atu Ta’wunil Muslimeen Association for their steadfastness and commitment towards propagating the Islamic religion.

Earlier in a welcome address, the National President of the Jama’atu Ta’wunil Muslimeen Association, Sheik Daood Molaasan commended the efforts of the Aregbesola administration for championing communal peace in the state, saying it is the only way that any meaningful development can take place in the society.

Sheik Molaasan said the association decided to bestow on the governor the award of “best governor” because he truly deserves it for the outstanding successes he has achieved in office.
