The General Manager of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Rashidi Balogun was full of praise for the management of Ibadan Cit Polytechnic for bringing their students to cheer his team to victory.
Balogun while addressing newsmen after the Oluyole Warriors defeated their counterpart from Ogun State, Gateway FC by a lone goal in midweek Nigeria National League (NNL) game described the vociferous support as a winning tonic for the players.
“The kind of support provided by our student-friends is really helping us this season and we must thank them. Though Shooting Stars has diverse categories of supporters club, but we’re happy to welcome this style brought here by students of Ibadan City Poly, as you can see our boys dancing with them after the match”, Balogun noted
The students, numbering more than 50 used to storm Lekan Salami Stadium from the beginning of this season with various musical instruments, such as drums, trumpets and band-set to cheer Shooting Stars, the development 3SC fans described as a good omen for the team.
The chairman governing council of the institution, Mr. Amos Ajanaku said the institution is always proud to identify with the traditional club at every situation, claiming that now is the most crucial time that the team needs the supports of all and sundry to win the promotion battle and return to its pride of place in African football circle.
It would be recalled that the proprietor of the institution was buying entry tickets for fans to watch matches free apart from providing gifts items for ‘Man of the Match’ at every home game during the 2016/2017 NPFL season.
