As Ramadan Ends, PDP Tasks Leaders On Honesty, Service

To mark the end of Muslims’ Ramadan fasting season, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejoiced with all Nigerians tasking leaders on honesty and service.

In a release from the office of its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party asked Nigerians to draw strength from the successful completion of the fasting period and bring the lessons and blessings of the spiritual observation to bear in all their dealings with one another and humanity in general, as commanded by the Almighty Allah.

Said PDP “Indeed, the Ramadan offers humanity profound lessons in faith, humility, love, charity, tolerance, perseverance, unity of purpose and teaches believers the triumph over ungodly inclinations and vicissitudes of life.

“The party urges Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation, particularly, as the citizens yearn for a new, purposeful and God-fearing leadership, as we approach the 2019 general elections, adding that Nigerians have passed through a lot of suffering, poverty, lack,  daily bloodletting, mental and physical torture that have created deep wounds requiring divine intervention and healing”.

PDP further asked Nigerians to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to God and hold strongly to the values that unite and bind them together in love, irrespective of creed, tribe, class or political affiliations and put behind all tendencies that cause division and acrimony among them.

The party called for prayers for the victims of violence and bloodletting in our country and urged those behind the incessant attacks to have a rethink and end the unnecessary violence against the people.

PDP advised leaders at all levels to reflect on the lessons of the Ramadan and rededicate themselves to the service of their people, instead of  pursuing selfish interests.”
