Ayodeji Karim, one of the aspirants eyeing for the governorship ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in  Oyo State has strongly admonished warring factions in the party not to allow ‘ego war’ to destroy the party.

The youthful politician who gave this admonition during a chat with PMParrot in Ibadan on Tuesday said he soundly believes the party is still formidable.

His words “We should block all the cracks on our wall. We need everyone. The more, the merrier, we cannot afford to allow people to leave the party even though, whatever we say, some people will still leave and some others will join. That is the way it goes in politics. All in all, I will just advise those at war to lower their egos and allow peace to reign.

“In a party as large as APC, there must be disagreements. It is a normal phenomenon in this kind of setting. Fortunately, there are platforms we can all latch on to for solution to grudges and complaints. I implore all to do the needful so that we can all face 2019 as a united political party.”

While speaking specifically about his governorship ambition, the former British army officer said “I am resolute about my ambition. I strongly believe I will be the next Governor of Oyo State.

“We have put our strategies in place, we have put our ambition before God and we have consulted far and widely too.

“If you ask me why I think I am the most qualified, I will tell you this – no other person has my qualifications, most of those you see showing up have sketchy experiences, they do not have anything to offer. They only thrive online and in the media.”

While promising to announce the day he would officially declare his ambition, Ayo Karim urged the people of the state not to allow deceitful politicians to give them a slice of bread in exchange for a bakery.

Born on December 18, 1970, Ayodeji Ismail Karim is from the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Dauda Adebayo Karim. He is the grandson of Alhaji Adegoke Akanji Karim from the Ile Adeniji, Opo-Labiran Compound in Ibadan. His mother, Durodola Maya is from the Maya Compound in the famous Itamaya, Foko in Ibadan.

Continuing about his background, Ayo submitted “I am a qualified Bachelor of Materials Engineering and Engineering Design/Manufacturing bothr from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK with track record of increasing operational efficiencies, reducing bottlenecks and downtime through Time Quality Management (TQM). I am also a specialist in initiating and executing ‘niche’ projects utilizing refined work approaches and best-in-class methodologies while ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.”

Ayodeji also informed PMParrot that he had an extensive military training as an Alumnus of the University of Wales Officer Training Corps, Wales, British Army, UK.

He is the current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Costain (West Africa) Plc and President/CEO of Winchester Farms Ltd, a 21st century meat  and poultry processing company in the heart of Ibadan.
