NFF President Amaju Pinnick Appointed CAF 1st Vice President

Nigeria Football Federation’s President, Amaju Pinnick has been appointed the new CAF 1st Vice President following the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi after the prevailing situation in Ghana.

This was stated in a letter sent to all football associations associated with CAF on Thursday, after consultations with the CAF Emergency Committee, where the body confirmed Pinnick as a replacement for Kwesi Nyatakyi who resigned his appointment as CAF first Vice President.

“The CAF President, after consulting with members of the emergency committee have appointed Melvin Amaju Pinnick as CAF 1st Vice President”

“The decision is immediately applicable, in accordance with article 27 para 2 of the statutes, which will be ratified by the executive committee in their session scheduled for 27 and 28 September 2018” the statement read in part.

The appointment took immediate effect in accordance with Article 27 Paragraph 2 of the statutes which is expected to be ratified by the Executive Committee on the 27th and 28th of September, 2018 in a scheduled session.

Pinnick also doubles up as a CAF Executive committee member and President of the Africa Cup Of Nations(AFCON) organizing committee.
