One of the serving Senators from Osun State, Professor Sola Adeyeye has explained the reason behind his absence from the evening the meeting President Muhammadu Buhari had with All Progressives Congress (APC) senators on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja.

According to the erudite politician, “I was at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine yesterday to deliver a public lecture which had been scheduled for over five months.”

The Professor gave his reasons via his Facebook page on Thursday morning.

The explanation which was monitored by PMParrot also saw the hard working politician explain further that “I did not get notification of Wednesday’s meeting with the President at the villa till around 7 p.m.

“It was logistically impossible for me to head to Abuja at that time. My colleagues of the APC caucus were fully aware of my engagement at Ibadan. “I also sent an apology to the President pertaining to my absence. For the avoidance of any doubts, I remain a firm member of the APC. I have never partaken of any formal or informal meeting with the r-APC”, he asserted.

Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi from Oyo State who had earlier been listed on the ‘decampee’ senators’ list was one of those who met with President Muhammadu Buhari.
