Nigerian international striker Adeleke Akinyemi is attracting huge interest from French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux after is goal spree in the Europa League.
Akinyemi, who would turn 20 until next Saturday, was on target for Ventspils in their 2-1 loss to Bordeaux in the second qualifying round of the Europa League on August 2.
Shortly after the meeting at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique, Bordeaux held talks over the signing of the teenager and it was agreed that they will continue to monitor him before making a final decision.
A representative from Bordeaux will be present at the Stadions Daugava (Liepāja) for Ventspils’s Cup clash with Liepāja on Monday, August 6 and he has been instructed to run the rule over Akinyemi.
