All roads led to Ado-Awaye town in Oyo State on Saturday, 4th of August, 2018 as the Alado of Ado-Awaye Kingdom, Oba Rev. Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi conferred the Chieftaincy title of Aare Soludero of Ado-Awaye Kingdom on the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, FCA, FCIB.
The Chieftaincy title was said to be a token of appreciation to the Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland and Chairman, Lagelu Grammar School Governing Board on his contributions to the development of the nation during his sojourn at the apex bank.
According to the Principal Secretary to the Alado of Ado-Awaye, Prince Oyeniyi Okunade, “we were happy to receive this illustrious son of Oyo State in Ado-Awaye.”
Speaking further, he said “Kabiyesi conferred the great title of Aare-Soludero of Ado-Awaye Kingdom on Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu as a way of appreciation. He has done Oyo State proud during his service at the Central Bank of Nigeria”.
Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, a direct grandson of Hon. Adegoke Adelabu Penkelemesi is a topmost Oyo State gubernatorial hopeful in the 2019 election.
In his reaction, the new Soludero informed PMParrot that he was appreciative of the gesture from the Alado of Ado-Awaye Kingdom.
His words “I thank the Alado. I also thank all those who made this day a great day for me and my family. The chieftaincy title is dedicated to all the good people of Oyo State who are patiently waiting to vote me in as the next governor of our wonderful state”.
The event which was held at the palace of Alado of Ado Awaye was witnessed by all and sundry across the state.
Other prominent Kings at the event include Eleruwa of Eruwa Oba Samuel Adegbola, Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen Ologunebi Ajinese and a very powerful team from Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan.
